Implementation date: Pursuant to 47 CFR § 51.333(b)(2), the implementation date will be on or after December 30, 2025. Planned network change(s) will occur at the following locations in Nebraska: Ansley exchange (935); Arcadia exchange (789); Ashton exchange (738); Boelus exchange (996); Burwell exchange (346); North Burwell exchange (348); Comstock exchange (628); Dannebrog exchange (226); Elba exchange (863); Ericson exchange (653); Gibbon exchange (468); Litchfield exchange (446); Mason City exchange (732); North Loup exchange (496); Ravenna exchange (452); Rockville exchange (372); Sargent exchange (527); Scotia exchange (245); Shelton exchange (647); and Taylor exchange (942).
Description of planned network change(s): Nebraska Central Telephone Company intends to retire a number of copper facilities in the Ansley exchange (935); Arcadia exchange (789); Ashton exchange (738); Boelus exchange (996); Burwell exchange (346); North Burwell exchange (348); Comstock exchange (628); Dannebrog exchange (226); Elba exchange (863); Ericson exchange (653); Gibbon exchange (468); Litchfield exchange (446); Mason City exchange (732); North Loup exchange (496); Ravenna exchange (452); Rockville exchange (372); Sargent exchange (527); Scotia exchange (245); Shelton exchange (647); and Taylor exchange (942) and to continue providing services over a fiber network infrastructure. Nebraska Central Telephone Company has deployed its fiber-to-the-home network in the areas prior to retiring the copper facilities in these areas. The fiber-to-the-home network allows subscribers to purchase internet service with speeds of up to 1×1 Gbps and voice service. End-user customers may retain their existing service(s) so long as they complete any steps necessary to migrate to the new fiber facilities.
Description of reasonably foreseeable impact(s) of planned network change(s): Following completion of the planned network change, Nebraska Central Telephone Company no longer will offer services over copper facilities in these areas and will cease maintaining the copper facilities. It will provide all voice and broadband services via its fiber-to-the home network that has replaced the copper facilities, and subscribers may continue to purchase voice and/or broadband service plans using the fiber-to-the-home network. To effectuate the transition, Nebraska Central Telephone Company may require customers and interconnecting entities to migrate services off of copper facilities prior to the copper retirement implementation date.
