Cobalt TV® Streaming for College

Use the Cobalt Streaming App and your compatible smart TV or streaming device and watch Cobalt from your dorm room.

Do you have our Cloud DVR? You can access the same DVR recordings from college, too.

The number of channels you receive will be the same as your Cobalt TV package at home, including any movie packages, with the possible exception of local channels. Local channel availability will depend on whether your college campus is inside our Designated Market Area (DMA) and will be specific to the town in which your parents live. Most in-state colleges and universities are within our viewing territory, however not all are guaranteed to be. No out-of-state college campuses will be able to receive Cobalt local channels. If a particular local channel is not showing as available on your campus, it is not possible to activate it. Local channels will not change to match the location of your campus.

You will need a solid campus internet connection for Cobalt TV Streaming to work, preferably at least a 25Mb connection.

Your devices at college will count toward the overall device limits of the streaming package purchased on your parents’ account. Customers can install the app on up to 5 devices with the standard package. This includes two concurrent streaming sessions to watch two devices at once. If your parents are using both streams when you also want to watch as a 3rd streaming session from college, additional streaming sessions will need to be purchased.

Troubleshooting by Hamilton will be extremely limited while you’re on the college campus.

Yes, if your parents’ Cobalt TV service has a DVR subscription, those same recordings will be available while on your college campus.

You will need to download the Cobalt TV Streaming app to a streaming device such as a Roku or Amazon Firestick, or compatible Smart TV. For more information on which devices are supported please see our list of device guides on the Cobalt TV Streaming Page.  Once you’re at school, your parents can generate the login codes from one of their Cobalt Streaming devices at home, or they can call us and we can generate the necessary codes to send to you. Those login codes will be necessary in order to activate your streaming device to their Cobalt account.

Cobalt TV Streaming is available in the lower 48 States. It is not available in Alaska and Hawaii, or in international locations.
