March 9, 2026, Aurora, Neb. — Hamilton Telecommunications, a leading provider of fiber-optic broadband in Nebraska, is pleased to announce its plans to build a 100% fiber network in the City of Ord, Nebraska. When the multi-year project is finished, approximately 50 miles of new buried fiber will deliver ultra-reliable high-speed Internet service to every home and business in Ord.

Hamilton anticipates construction will begin in April 2026 with deploying the mainline fiber throughout the perimeter and main roads, with construction to neighborhoods expected to begin late 2026. Fiber connectivity to Ord will enable the fastest, most reliable Gigabit-speed broadband, managed Wi-Fi, Cobalt TV, managed IT, cybersecurity and phone services for residents and businesses, supporting the community’s growing connectivity needs.

The City of Ord and Hamilton have reached an agreement that will provide incentives to Hamilton to construct and operate the multi-million dollar network. On March 2, 2026, the Ord City Council approved the terms of those incentives in a new ordinance. “This project is crucial to the future growth of our community,” said Caleb Pollard, Director of Economic Development for Ord. “I commend the leadership of the City of Ord for stepping up and making the necessary resources available to get this done. I would also like to thank leadership at Hamilton for their vision and willingness to invest in our community. The partnership will create tremendous opportunities for our area and I am grateful for that.”

“We are very pleased to continue to expand our fiber network to Ord,” said Dan Molliconi, Chief Operating Officer for Hamilton. “The support and leadership from both the City and Valley County Economic Development were instrumental in moving this project forward. We are proud to stand with them in a joint commitment that makes Ord a great place to live and work —supported by fiber Internet connectivity that is second to none,” added Molliconi.

Hamilton fiber deployment will occur in a multi-phased approach with the first phase beginning in the spring. Built on fiber-optic technology that is inherently scalable, the network is designed to support increasing bandwidth demands, emerging technologies, and future community growth for decades to come. This investment represents a strategic, long-term commitment to delivering reliable, high-speed connectivity that can evolve as the needs of residents and businesses in Ord continue to grow.

“I am very proud of the agreement the City of Ord was able to negotiate with Hamilton Telecommunications, which will provide our citizens with the speed, reliability, and level of service our community deserves,” stated Mayor Jeramy Sedlacek. “This partnership represents a major step forward in strengthening our infrastructure, supporting economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for everyone in Ord.”

An early adopter of fiber optic technology, Hamilton began burying fiber in 1982. Over the course of the next forty-four years, Hamilton continued to invest in its fiber infrastructure, expanding its network closer to the homes of customers in its local exchange service territory as well as closer to the community of Ord. Today, Hamilton provides fiber Internet services to more than thirty-one communities in Central Nebraska.
